Dhankuta

Dhankuta (Nepali: धनकुटा listenⓘ)[2] is a hill town and the headquarters of Dhankuta District in Koshi Province in Eastern Nepal. According to 2011 Nepal census, it has population of 26,440 inhabitants. Ramdhuni Temple emerging as a pilgrimage destination

  Our Correspondent, Barachhetra, July 16:  Ramdhuni Temple located on the border of Barakshetra Municipality and Bhokraha Narsing Rural Municipality in Sunsari is being developed as a religious tourist destination area by constructing various religious shrines and upgrading the already existing structures.  According to a legend, during the Treta Yuga, lord Ram Chandra spent a night by making a fire in this holy place during his exile (Barnabas). It is also believed that lord Ram left a pair of his Kharau (shoes) in this holy place. Devotees from all over the country and abroad visit the temple believing that it is the holy land touched by lord Ram's feet. The number of pilgrims visiting the temple has surged significantly after the concerned stakeholders showed interest in promoting the temple as an important religious site.
